Open daily one hour before sunrise to one hour after sunset. Due to construction please visit the Valle de Oro website for the most up-to-date information on road closures.
The Visitor Center will be closed on:
Thursday, November 24 (Thanksgiving)
Saturday, December 24 (Christmas Eve)
The Visitor Center will also be closed on December 20 & 21 for water line work. At this time, there will be no running water on the Refuge. Bathrooms will be closed.
In addition to these days, the Friends Nature Store will be closed throughout Thanksgiving weekend (November 25 & 26) to give staff and volunteers more time with celebrate with loved ones.
VISITOR CENTER & Nature Store
The Visitor Center is open Tuesday through Saturday from 9am-4pm.
The Nature Store is open Tuesday-Saturday from 10am-4pm.
DIRECTIONS
Valle de Oro is located at the far south end of 2nd Street, about 5 miles south of Albuquerque, New Mexico. If you come by I-25, exit at Rio Bravo going west. Turn south at the third light which will be 2nd Street. Continue south for approximately 3.5 miles. When the road makes a turn across the railroad tracks do not follow it - continue on the straight, older road. Valle de Oro National Wildlife Refuge is located on the right hand side about a quarter mile further.
