Build Your Refuge Day at Valle de Oro National Wildlife Refuge

Celebrate National Public Lands Day at Valle de Oro National Wildlife Refuge’s Build Your Refuge Day Saturday, September, 28th 10 AM-2 PM, 7851 2nd St. SW, Albuquerque, NM 87105. Learn about the new ABQ Backyard Refuge Program, participate in hands-on habitat restoration in the refuge’s first wetlands, attend outdoor workshops on gardening for wildlife, and more! All activities are free and family friendly. Water, a hat and closed-toed shoes are recommended. Also, enjoy kids activities, live music, hay ride tours, and food trucks. 10:15 am – Intro to the ABQ Backyard Refuge Program – Stage

10:30 am – 11:00 am – Hayride (Spanish/English) – Hayride/Shuttle Stop

10:35 am – Planting Demo by the New Mexico Plant Society – Stage

11:00 am – Designing Your Backyard Refuge Presentation – Stage

11:15 am – Designing Your Backyard Refuge (45 mins) – Workshop Tent

11:20 am – Intro to the ABQ Backyard Refuge Program – Stage

11:30 am – 12:00 pm – Hayride (ASL/English) – Hayride/Shuttle Stop

11:40 am – Planting Demo by the New Mexico Plant Society – Stage

12:00 pm – Meet Your Backyard Beneficial Insects & Pollinators – Stage

12:30 pm – 1:00 pm – Hayride (Spanish/English) – Hayride/Shuttle Stop

1:15 pm – Sol De La Noche – Music Headliner – Stage

1:30 pm – 2:00 pm – Hayride (ASL/English) – Hayride/Shuttle Stop
